Cowling Support Rods

Don't you just hate it when you accidently hit the cowling support and it falls on your head?

I have two solutions to this problem.  The solution I use on the Jaguar Cowling is shown on this page.  Phil Kelsey came up with a clever solution (6th pic). For the stock cowling, I replace that flakey snap (on the baffle) with a 1 inch long #8 screw/nut. Then, I just remove the snap on the support rod and leave the hole open on the rod.  When you put the rod on the screw, it won't just fall off if you accidently hit it. Works go outside in the wind.
