Notice the flap attached to the exit ramp.  This just causes drag.  You don't need it.

If you are using a JPI EDM analyzer, you can comfortably run 435F CHTs in straight and level flight. 

Keep CHTs under 470F in a hard climb.  If CHTs start to go over 460F in a hard climb, pull on carb heat.
